The fast-moving deadly virus, COVID-19, hit the world hard during 2020. Many countries went into a complete lock-down that prevented people from leaving their homes, except for exceptional purposes, for many weeks. Here in New Zealand our initial four-week lock-down began on Thursday 26 March 2020. During that time we barely stepped out of our property. This album features the view from our deck, over Waikare Inlet, that I photographed each day during that time.

The Waikare River is a river in the Northland Region of New Zealand's North Island.
Rising in the Russell Forest, it flows into the southern end of the Waikare Inlet, a drowned valley that forms the southeastern arm of the Bay of Islands. (Ref: Wikipedia)

I'm also keeping a slightly more comprehensive day by day diary of our lock-down sunrises on Flickr 🌞
